Sandra Garibotti MSW RSW

I am a Registered Social Worker, in practice for the past 27 years. My experience includes 25 years of working within child welfare, with numerous clinical and supervisory roles, during which I focused my work in working with adolescents and their families for 6 years.  In 2013 I began working with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer as a clinical panel member, completing custody and access assessments, as well as assisting OCL panel lawyers. I have received training and do my best to practice from an Anti-Oppressive Model. I have obtained a Master in Social Work from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Ryerson University

Following life changing decisions, such as the one to separate or divorce, it is not uncommon to feel guilt, sadness, and sometimes relief. However, in my experience there is always worry when there are children involved. I help parents navigate their children’s experience, so that they can transition between parents with ease and confidence. I work with families, parents, and children. However, I have also provided support to the individual who is struggling through this process. My goal is to coach parents throughout this difficult time, to help understand that children’s experience, and ensure they feel safe and loved in both homes.
